Hemorrhoid Problems and Vitamin Supplements

The Right Vitamins for Hemorrhoids
Your body will need the extra support caused by hemorrhoids.

Choosing the right vitamin supplement may be a little harder than you think. If you already take a multivitamin, that is a good start. But, are you taking the right vitamin supplement? Consider that if you are suffering with Hemorrhoids, your immune system is likely less than perfect. Your body needs support, and Hemorrhoids cause stress, and can relate to stress in our lives. For any affliction or health issue, ensuring you are getting good basic nutrition is essential to repair and recovery. Too many people miss this most basic premise by a mile.

If you picked up a basic vitamin supplement at your local pharmacy or grocery store, you need to be discriminating. Not all vitamins were created equal. Many of the vitamins that are less expensive use artificial vitamins. Studies have shown that artificial Vitamin A may be carcinogenic. Many brand name products also use artificial Vitamin E as well which is sourced from coal tar. Do not assume that all vitamin supplements use 'natural products.'

Your body needs more than minimum nutrition and instead you should be focused on optimum nutrition for total health. Taking a vitamin with 100% of the recommended minimum daily requirement is operating off the assumption your body can absorb nutrients at 100% efficiency. That can not possibly be the case for anyone. Plus, your body needs more than the minimum nutrition, especially if you are trying to overcome a health problem. Our bodies have never been more besieged from environmental toxins, stress, preservatives in our foods and typically poor diets.

So you need to choose a multi-vitamin that is balanced, has a good mineral content, and better yet includes a compliment of additional ingredients such as antioxidants. Also, look for a product that has a good balance of B vitamins which help with stress factors. If you shop at a local health food store, seek help from a sales associate to pick a good multivitamin. Don't settle for your bargain basement supplement, you may be wasting your money. Some of the recommended brands I suggest would be: Twinlabs, Solgar, Now, or Jarrow Formulas.

Starting with a good multivitamin is the first place to start for optimum health. A very basic suggestion would be to include additional Vitamin C, and also Calcium Citrate with Magnesium, as you would find it hard to meet the needs of Vitamin C and Calcium in a single multivitamin tablet or capsule. There is no such thing as a multivitamin supplement that can possibly meet all your nutritional needs. But picking a good one with a brand name that formulates their products well is an excellent start. One more thing; in choosing a progressive multivitamin, be sure to pick a product that has a low iron content. Any supplement that has iron content approaching 100% of the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance), may not be safe. Besides being a common source of poisoning in infants and small children, current studies suggest that even 100% RDA of iron may lead to heart damage. Most progressive supplements have tailored their supplements to include a much smaller milligram content of iron per serving.
